Tapestry Bag
Finding The Right Tapestry Bags
Are you the type girl that loves the 70’s era where the hippie and free spirit was trendy. One of the biggest trends of this time was the Tapestry bag. I absolutely love them and they are still very popular today. Especially in the colder seasons. To me there’s nothing like them!! Tapestry or they liked to call the Carpet bags were normally made by hand in the 70’s out of different patterned fabrics. Today I’m sure there are some that make there own but normally are probably made in the factory. There are many designers that make them. One of my favorite ones is the Gucci Hysteria Tapestry bag! This bag is so beautiful. Lucky Brand also make some amazing ones too. They even make patchwork tapestry handbags! Lucky Brand bags are very affordable and very good quality!!
I would love to know how to make my own affordable designer handbag!! If you decide you are gonna take the leap and try to make your own tapestry bag go to your local fabric store, there are so many tapestry fabrics to choose from. I have also found lots of amazing fabrics at estate sale for the 70’s era. It can still be found. Of course if you don’t want to attempt to make them yourself you could also find new or vintage handbags like this at estate sales.
If you want to go back even further during the 1800’s there were tapestry bags. These were normally smaller in size and were always handmade in either Victorian fabrics or hand stitched. The frames were always made of metal and very ornate. The woman of that era were always dressed to the T and always had amazing handbags. But everything was a lot smaller back then, they would carry maybe there lipstick and rouge or as we call it today blush.
So no matter what era the tapestry purse of your choosing comes from there are many ways to find the one your looking for.
